- At about 2:00pm, a man rammed a PG&E worker with car, assaults 2 others before being stopped - A man is suspected of intentionally ramming his car into a PG&E worker Friday afternoon at Marks and McKinley avenues west of Highway 99, Fresno County Sheriff's Lt. Louis Hernandez said. The 55-year-old driver hit the worker, 36, just after 2 p.m. and then assaulted two people who tried to help the worker, Hernandez said. A passenger in the 55-year-old's car ended the assault when he hit the man on the back of the head at least once with a hatchet. It wasn't clear which side of the hatchet he used to hit the man. Hernandez said deputies arrived after the 55-year-old had been knocked out. That man and the Pacific Gas & Electric worker were both reported in stable condition at Community Regional Medical Center, Hernandez said. The 55-year-old has a large laceration to the back of his head. The passenger wasn't detained, Hernandez said. According to the man’s passenger, a hitch-hiker, the suspect seems to have snapped into a racist rage against the African-American PG&E worker.
